SpettinatONE

SpettinatONE

Usually, it is the artist who identifies with their own art, but what if, for once, it was the audience who became a work of art?
I conducted this experiment during the 2026 edition of Degusta La Morra: with the complicity of Marco Filiputti, I created a Giant Spettinata… meaning it was as tall as I am, so not exactly outside standard measurements, but definitely larger than the ones I paint on paper.
The idea was to let passersby experience the emotion of being “spettinati” (disheveled) by placing their faces inside a life-sized cardboard cutout of a Spettinata, which was also painted with wine on paper. The experiment was a success! Many “SpettinatONE” captured their faces among the wine stains in the artists’ square set up in front of the Cantina Comunale di La Morra, choosing between being “Woman with a Glass” or “Spettinata Maleducata” (Rude Spettinata).
In this way, the art that usually stays in galleries took to the streets.
