From 28 July to 11 August at the Cantina Comunale di La Morra, Rita Barbero, also known as the artist Purpleryta will display works of art never seen before to celebrate fifty/fifty!
This exhibition will display unpublished works created specifically for the fifty/fifty, for the 50th birthday of the artist and the 50th birthday of Cantina Comunale as well as for the 50%/50% techniques used in the art.
The color of the wines used will occupy the first 50% while the other 50% will be enhanced by the use of other colors. “I will present an array of tousled women in which the initial wine stain is always the source of inspiration to create the subject. Barolo, Barbera, Dolcetto first, then other colors besides those so you will see my favorite historical subjects like never before” explain Purpleryta.
“This novel inspiration is my gift to you for our fifty/fifty birthdays”, says Purpleryta.
“The use of color, always delicate, never intrusive, adds a touch of lightness and whimsy to which one also aspires in life and which one hopes becomes a reality, if even for a moment.”
Each work is unique and unrepeatable because everything starts from a stain that becomes the tousled hair. Hence creativity and the artist’s interpretation completes the work that takes on dreamlike forms. Anything from aliens to mermaids, angels or demons and beyond.
Through the use of different techniques and paper Purpleryta reveals visual effects and surprising pigments that result from dried grapes that have been turned to wine. This skill places at the center of attention the first element observed during the sensory analysis during wine tasting: color.
The Fifty/Fifty exhibition will be held in a location dedicated to wine, the Cantina Comunale di La Morra, in perfect harmony with the philosophy of the artist, Purpleryta, and with the motto that she utilizes on social: # ilvinounisce and # ilvinocontienecultura.
The artist will be present at the exhibition for the opening, the 29th July at 11 and 17 hours.
Purpleryta lives and works in the Langhe where her innate passion for art has allowed to her to continue to communicate the story of the local wines, which she has been working with for over 20 years, in another medium, more creative than most.
